In the works: open source PolyCore with RISC-V processor

To further push a little the recent risc-v developments we decided to expand our PolyCore lineup with a new open source board.

In 2017 we already released something similar. Back then it was our VoltaStream Zero board based on the arm cortex A7 NXP i.MX6ULL SoC.
Its open source successor will be the new RISC-V based PolyCore8 evaluation  board which will be built around the Renesas RZ/5 SoC and come in the standard RPi formfactor.

Combined with 1 GB DDR4 RAM, a pre-certified WiFi & Bluetooth modul, 10/100 ethernet and the 40 way GPIO pin header it will be an ideal choice to evaluate your product idea running on a RISC-V processor.

An open source PolyCore board for an open source processor architecture.

We are currently finishing the PCB layout and the first prototypes should show up end of December 2023. Once the design is validated we will release the full hardware project files in KiCAD format under a non-commercial license. Commercial use and any kind of customisation will be possible following our standard b2b terms.
